Stardust

Hi everyone!

Have you ever heard of Neil Gaiman? He's one of my favourite writers. Last Thursday we watched 20 minutes of the film which was based on Neil Gaiman's book titled "Stardust". The title of the film is the same.
That's a pity we didn't have time to watch more.
I hope it'll go better next time.

Here you can watch the trailer of the film:

I really recommend you the book. I know you like reading and you read a lot. I'm sure you'll love it! Look for it in the library or in the bookshop
Read about Neil Gaiman here: What does Wikipedia know about N. Gaiman :-)

May it be

Hi hobbits!
What a beautiful song! What a great film! I seriously hope you all have watched it! If not, it's an unforgivable mistake!
Unfortunately nobody guessed the title of the song. However, Ola Fitas was very near the answer.

Enjoy the video!

And this is the lyrisc of the song:
May it be an evening star

Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornie utulie (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadow's call
Will fly away
May it be your journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornie utulie (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

Try to guess the title of the song...

...which I'm going to bring you next Wednesday.
Look at the pictures and think deeply about it. Try to come to some conclusions and send me your ideas wordsclub@wp.pl  Good luck!!!

And the winners are...

... Mateusz Lickindorf, Natalia Dubrowska and Marysia Kanczewska!!!
Yes, yes, yes, I'm talking about our small WORDS CONTEST.
It's quite natural because it's the WORDS CLUB, isn't it? So, the guys I mentioned at the beginning sent me the right answers, I mean the missing words from the sentences about wicked witches. You all had a chance to get great marks but I've got an impression that you were to lazy to look up a few words in the dictionary... That's a pity...
Anyway, Mateusz, Natalia and Marysia, thank you for your efforts.

The correct answers are:
People have believed in (1) witchcraft for centuries.

They often (2) accused innocent people of being witches.

People believed that they could be (3) cursed by witches.

Women who were old and (4) warty and looked a bit evil were of course witches.

Call WITCHFINDERS DIRECT! If you have anything go wrong in your life, they will find some innocent woman and (5) blame her for it.

In 1600s confessing to being a witch could result in (6) burning

If you want to kill your enemy in a witch style, you may need some soil from a new (7) grave
the (8) rib of a rich woman burnt to ashes, a black spider and the sap of an elder tree. First you need to mix up your (8) ingredients and make a model of your enemy.

We read the description of the scene when Bilbo meets Gandalf. Here you've got some pictures which show how a few artists imagined that very important meeting; the meeting which changed the history of Middle-Earth.
