Elvish

Namárië, also called Galadriel's LamentAltariello nainië Lóriendessë (Quenya for "Galadriel's lament in Lórien"), and sometimes Song of the Elves beyond the Sea, is the longest Quenya text in The Lord of the Rings.
The word Namárië means "farewell" in quenya.

Ai! laurië lantar lassi súrinen,

yéni únótimë ve rámar aldaron!

Yéni ve lintë yuldar avánier

mi oromardi lisse-miruvóreva

Andúnë pella, Vardo tellumar

nu luini yassen tintilar i eleni

ómaryo airetári-lírinen.

Sí man i yulma nin enquantuva?

An sí Tintallë Varda Oiolossëo
ve fanyar máryat Elentári ortanë,
ar ilyë tier undulávë lumbulë;
ar sindanóriello caita mornië
i falmalinnar imbë met, ar hísië
untúpa Calaciryo míri oialë.
Sí vanwa ná, Rómello vanwa, Valimar!

Namárië! Nai hiruvalyë Valimar.
Nai elyë hiruva. Namárië!

Ah! like gold fall the leaves in the wind,
long years numberless as the wings of trees!
The years have passed like swift draughts
of the sweet mead in lofty halls beyond the West,
beneath the blue vaults of Varda
wherein the stars tremble in the song of her voice, holy and queenly.

Who now shall refill the cup for me?

For now the Kindler, Varda, the Queen of the Stars,
from Mount Everwhite has uplifted her hands like clouds,
and all paths are drowned deep in shadow;
and out of a grey country darkness lies on the foaming waves between us,
and mist covers the jewels of Calacirya for ever.
Now lost, lost to those from the East is Valimar!

Farewell! Maybe thou shalt find Valimar.
Maybe even thou shalt find it. Farewell!

Może ty go właśnie znajdziesz. Żegnaj! (by Maria Skibniewska)

Our new favourite song :)

Believe me or not but I've set this song as a ringtone on my mobile :) Just listen to it once again! Isn't it great? I remember you said it's better than the original version.

The end of the "picture" competition

The question was - what's wrong with the picture made by my son :-) Dominik from class 0a
The drawing presents the battle of five armies from "The Hobbit".
The correct answer is - there wasn't any dragon; when the battle took place he was already dead, killed by Bard.
There were three students who know the book and could send me the correct answers. These students are:

Congratulations!!!

The longest comment in history!!! (of our blog of course :-)

On the 19th of April Mateusz Lickindorf wrote the longest comment!!! He used seventy-one words!!!
Well done!

BUT his record was broken very quickly and I'll write about it pretty soon!

The funniest and the most cheerful song ever! :-)

Dumb ways to die, sooo maaany dumb ways to dieeeee!!!
I knew it! I was sure you would love this song!
I really like singing with you. Isn't that a great way to... no, not to die, just learn English! But on the other hand - do you remember the sketch performed by Mateusz Lickindorf? He made some research and came to the conclusion that speaking English can be very... dangerous... Well, never mind... Actually everything can be dangerous, right?! Hunting opossums, too... You know what I mean? Oh, I'm sure you know because you've heard much of opossums...

Okay, let's stick to the topic!
We're talking about... dumb ways to die...!
I'm waiting for your comments - which ways do you think are the dumbest? Which ones are the funniest? The most surprising? The weirdest?
Share your opinions with me and other readers of this blog!
